I learned today that my friend, P7M13, Len Baker of Denver, Colorado, died last Thursday in an automobile accident.
He was an amazing man - his profile page was simple, stating:
Texas Aggie, Class of 1976, Graduated 4 years late, Ag Ed Major, Rode the horse, Wore the boots
He was a devout Christian, worked countless hours in his Church, a devoted father and a good friend.
He reminded me constantly to see things from the point of view of others, and I will miss him more than I can express.

"Tonk, we need to get Len's name added to the Memorial Wall,
but I can't remember who was doing that. Do you?"

I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. I'll remember your friend Len, our fellow FReeper and his family in my prayers.
And He will raise you up on eagles wings,
bear you on the breath of dawn,
make you to shine like the sun,
and hold you in the palm of His hand.

Silver Taps at A&M By Mrs. Jeanette Hennigan ©. You hear about the Aggie Band And the Spirit of Aggieland. But few have heard the Farewell Hymn Of Silver Taps at A&M All day the flag flies at half-mast. A sign to us of a solemn task, To bid farewell to one whos gone. With Silver Taps hes not alone. The night is dark and very still. Where Sully stands the area fills With a silent crowd of those who care. Their hearts all joined in silent prayer. The Ross Volunteers, the honor guard, Speak for us all as their guns discharge. Twenty-one guns now blast the air And fade away in the darkness there. The taps blow loud from the tower near. And twice again so faint, yet clear. Like rustling wings of a soul in flight, Silver Taps fades in the night. You stand spellbound, you scarcely breathe. With heavy heart you turn to leave. Your Aggie friend no more youll see, Till Silver Taps is blown for thee. Silver Taps at A&M Will always be our farewell hymn To those whove gone to heights unknown. With Silver Taps, he journeys on.
