A quick question for you. What is the difference between the reserves (for the Air Force, for example) and the National Guard?

The only difference between the Reserves and the National Guard is who pays for them. The Reserves are federal. The National/State Guard is state sponsored. Granted, the NG gets federal funding. Also, the way they are used is somewhat different (as is the oath, slightly). Guard can be called up by the state. The President has to call up the Reserves.

We fight together, we fight the same way, we fight the same bad guys, and we rarely scrap amongst ourselves. grin!
