Birmingham - Sextuplets Finances
An emergency payment Friday will keep the parents of Alabama's first sextuplets from losing their Center Point home. For now. But Diamond Harris, who gave birth on July 7th to two girls and four boys, and her husband, Christopher Harris, are in a tough financial spot. The Straits have only delayed a foreclosure sale of their three-bedroom, three-bath home that was planned for Monday. The couple was a double-income family until Diamond developed complications during her pregnancy. The family is more than 5-thousand dollars behind on their mortgage payments. A payment of 14-hundred dollars collected by relatives yesterday will keep the bank, Citimortgage, at bay for the meantime. The father said the family had to swallow its pride to ask for financial help from relatives.
Harris: Family Living Off His Teacher Salary, Earnings As Part-Time Tutor

CENTER POINT, Ala. -- The parents of Alabama's first sextuplets are on the brink of losing their home in suburban Birmingham to mortgage foreclosure as financial woes have multiplied since the newborns arrived.
The sextuplets -- two girls and four boys -- were born July 7 to Diamond Harris and husband Christopher Harris.
Relatives have donated $1,440 toward the $5,000 in delinquent house payments to avoid a foreclosure sale set for Monday.
The Harrises were notified Sept. 12 that the Center Point home would be sold on the steps of the Jefferson County Courthouse.
The family lawyer, Lawrence Cooper, said the Harrises were more than $5,000 behind on payments to CitiMortgage Inc., but the relatives' donations stalled the sale for now.
Harris said the family has been living off his teacher salary and earnings as a part-time tutor. His wife had worked as a licensed practical nurse but had to quit last winter because of pregnancy complications.
At one point, he says, she nearly died. Efforts to reach CitiMortgage were unsuccessful.
I will defer to your experience on this matter, what happened with the whole thing? Did he/she say they could help with getting your wife pregnant and fail to monitor what they were doing? I have never had to go that route so am unclear as to the process. I am, admittedly, ignorant of what generally happens in these cases and how they progress.
How old are your kids now, and wife wants to know if you have pics (did not see any profile page, if your new to FR I can help you out with getting pics up there if you wish to, the ones on my page are uploaded to my website and if you need space I have plenty). God bless!
