Uh Libertarian government does not advance a conservative government, it is basically anarchy and anarchy is an anathema to conservatism.
Libertarinism places the primary consideration on the rights of the individual, and the primary responsibility of the government on protecting those rights. In terms of mainting a social order, it is closer to anarchy than an authoritarian socialist system. In terms of defining the proper role of government with regards to sociey, it is closer to conservativism than liberalism, which sees the government as a mechanism for societal engineering. Which do you want more - a conservative society, or a conservative government?
