I never intended to make an enemy out of this guy. He didn't like my remarks about Alan Keyes, so he dogged me for months, and he was personal about it. I've watched him do the same thing to others - like Sunsong (not exactly part of the "pack" people are so convinced exists). I'm not the only who noticed how aggressive he was, and that he would not leave her alone. And I saw what he did to Howlin. As far as I know, he's still misrepresenting her voter registration status on other forums.

Speaking for myself, I rarely hit abuse for anything, and I did not follow Registered around hitting abuse on him. I doubt very much that anyone did.

Let's clear up another thing or two, while we're at it. More information about Howlin's FULL NAME was posted than can be concluded from her cryptic email address. Her first, middle, and last names were posted. You can't get that information from her email address.

Yes, it was the address of her polling place that was posted - but I must point out that it's a distinction that makes little difference. It was still her neighborhood, and alarmingly close to her home at the time. (She has moved, thank God.)

I challenge anyone who thinks this is no big deal to post the full name (first, middle, and last) of a female loved one, and a one-mile square map of that loved one's neighborhood.

Imagine what it's like to have people who despise you be handed that information.

Imagine what it's like to see a bunch of people blaming YOU for what happened. Imagine what it's like to see keywords like those above.

Obviously, many of you dislike her. You dislike all of us who support President Bush. Fine. But remember that she is a human being, with a family, and try to imagine how you would feel being on the receiving end of a stunt like that and the subsequent fallout. Suspend your prejudice long enough to put yourself in her place. Whatever you may think of Howlin, she never posted any other Freeper's real name and precise location here to harm them. And I know her well enough to know that she wouldn't.

I consider myself a conservative, and I used to think other conservatives were decent and honest. This place has opened my eyes, and I don't like what I see.

I never wanted to be Registered's enemy. He made that decision. And I have taken a lot of brickbats for standing up for Howlin on this topic. I saw what happened, and I know the history. I've been doing what I believe is right, and I've been despised for it. Howlin has been slaughtered. And now people are suggesting she should have been punished, too? I believe I've seen everything.

However, those who truly did watch events unfold know EXACTLY what happened and can merely be amused at the crazies here who live their lives looking through selective eyes.

Who cares ??? They really make no difference on a personal level and can't even register a full percentage point on the political scale. They are, in essence, meaningless.

I not only observed what happened...but, lucky me, was the recipient of an email from Registered, arguing his 'case'.

IMO........Registered is the one who broke the rules and hence was totally responsible for HIS ACTIONS and the subsequent consequences for his actions.

Some have argued that because Registered is 'special' that he should have been given more latitude and the same rules that apply to you or I should NOT be applied to Registered.

I disagree.

I don't care if God smiled down on Registered and gave him special talents re: graphics etc. or not. Nor do I care if he wasn't correctly potty trained/ loved/ nurtured/ spoiled/ abused/or any other B.S. excuse.

If you have a 'violator' and a 'victim'.....I refuse to hold the 'victim' (Howlin) responsible for the actions of the 'violator'.

If one doesn't like the reality of CAUSE and EFFECT...then one will learn, won't they.

Deciding to quit the 'game' (for whatever reason)......doesn't alter the reality of the laws of CAUSE AND EFFECT.

Where ever Registered goes...or whatever Registered does...HIS ACTIONS are STILL.......HIS RESPONSIBILITY.
