Getting behind someone who is wearing bell-bottoms, and having to hear that "slip-slop" sound as they scrape the ground.
The word "Blog."
The word "Diversity."

Like, the total abuse of, like, the English language, like, by using, like, the word like, as like every part of speech and stuff like that.

"toleration"

My daughter has her learner's permit and it makes me insane when someone sees a "kid" driving, but gets on their back bumper! I "accidently" flipped this guy off today when he passed us..........I just meant to point at him.........

Anniversary journalism. (This is the mother of all weeks for that.)

Going to McDonald's (that would be bad enough) and, nine times out of ten, having my order messed up in some way by the scholars who work (I'm using that term loosely) there.
To: Cagey
OH that is priceless.............(but she wasn't going slowly - we were at a light!)

People who send messages and spell "loose" when they mean "lose," as in, "We're going to loose the game."
BTW, in post 9, I really did mean what I spelled: "loosely" (not "losely").

People with tattoos and body piercings. (Of course, they're getting under their own skin by mutilating it so.)

These days, it's "One year anniversary." There is no such thing as "six month anniversary" or "one week anniversary."
In a few days, we will be noting the FIRST ANNIVERSARY of the attack on September 11, 2001.

People who shack up.
People, especially in the media, who accept shacking up as an OK thing to do.
(How our culture has declined in the last 35-40 years!)
To: Paul Atreides
News stories that talk about Americans "being afraid to fly" when really it's the hassle caused by the stupid "security" measures that deters people from flying.
To: Paul Atreides
Anything....and I mean ANYTHING that:
Smiles like
Sounds like
Smells like
Parties like
Frowns like
Looks like
Feels like
Lies like
Speaks like
Pouts like
Scams like
Steals like
Corrupts like
.....a Clinton.

Telemarketers.
The over-commercialization of baseball broadcasts ("This pitching change is brought to you by Pampers"), especially that advertising sign they put behind the batter so you have to look at it on the pitcher-batter camera shot.
Telemarketers.
Back-to-school sales in July. The school year starting in mid-August. Oktoberfests in September, Halloween stuff in September, Christmas catalogues in September.
Telemarketers.

Plus, people who claim that spelling isn't that important because everyone knows what the person means. I know people will accidentally misspell a word, either from being in a hurry, or hitting the wrong key. It is the intellectual laziness of people that is so maddening.

That is something that really burns me up; when you have to turn and someone gets right on your bumper, when there is plenty of room to pass in the other lane. Also, people who will pull out all the stops to pull out in front of someone, knowing full well the person is coming down the road very fast, only to poke along or turn a block down the street.

I especially hate seeing the multiple piercings on parents of small children.
Also, seeing an otherwise classy-looking woman with about twelve earrings in each ear.
There is a LOT to be said for simplicity.
