I messed that French/Black Speach comment. I did find several of the comments about a lack of maternal characters in Tolkien's work might be because of his parents death and subsequent 'adoption' by an uncle; therefore a pretty male dominated upbringing pretty interesting.

Had you really though of the lack of mothers before?

No I really hadn't thought of it before but it does make sense.

I haven't made it to the end of those messages yet. I did see your comment about the print, though. I changed my screen resolution on the laptop to 800 x 600.

I've been working on a big event for this weekend and won't be able to get to last Wednesday's class till after Saturday or Sunday. Looking forward to it, though. What is the forum like, how is it presented? Is there a comments history I can go to and read?
