YEah. The latest thing is people driving around with a modified Prngles can to check for who is using a wireless. If they don't have it secured it can be tapped into and used. I suspect that the "pringles" can would need to be very highly modified. With a suitable high-frequency reciever. And tied to a computer. Certainly not impossible, but probably not all that practical for residential computer use. My concern was on whether the contraption would be simple and cheap enough to be practical. Anything on the airwaves can be recieved but at what cost is the question.

That's just to find unsecured neworks. Once it's found they just need to configure their computer to interface in the network. The Pringles can is just used as a sniffer so they know where they can try and hit it at and where it won't work.
