I don't know when Utahn children start school, but Elizabeth should/would be starting the 9th grade, soon. :(

No, she never gets it. She is too intoxicated with her hatred of this poor family and is in denial of her behavior.

that Ricci had complained of a headache...

They mentioned the headache in the first article I saw the night it happened.

"They mentioned the headache in the first article I saw the night it happened."

Great......can you give me a link to that? As noted previously, I could find no mention of it at all in the 5 news sources that I listed.

I said:

With millions of people praying on Elizabeth's behalf, there is only only likely answer. Devine Intervention.

Cherry said:

ah...the Christian Mormon church gives their opinion...very telling..

Clearly Cherry's "Christian Mormon church" comment was not aimed at me, inspite of her attempts to claim she was flaming me.

Now for the rest of the story: Paul Harvey said today on his noon broadcast, while commenting on Ricci being in a coma, said that "the case had been referred to a higher court".

I'm only too happy to have had thoughts similar to Paul Harvey - whether you clowns like it or not. I should also point out that there are at least as many posters who are disgusted with your comments as mine.

"unusual" in what way?....if we only knew what Dinse meant....

Uh, maybe unusual because the police usually try to solve them? Usually if someone suspicious like the man seen by the milkman in daylight or on the convenience store video or by the security man at the Shriner's Hospital from 20 feet or the searchers or Mohl, all men fitting the same description, don't you put together a composite, or just release a photograph from the convenience store video, to see if the public can locate or might know something about the fellow? Wouldn't you at least call the milkman in for an interview or show some interest in the the video made at the Hospital by a security guard that made a 911 call on the guy? They don't know who this guy is??

A representative for the Utah Department of Corrections was interviewed this morning on the Today Show. He said Ricci alerted control center last evening complaining of difficulty breathing and a severe headache. When the guards went to his room he talked to them for a minute or two and then collapsed on his bunk. They called in paramedics and began resusitation. He got out of some kind of surgery this morning - they wouldn't say what kind - and said that he was doing better and would probably pull through. The representative said some have speculated that it was an aneurism but he has no idea if this is true or not. He also doesn't think it was a suicide attempt because he is the one who called for help.

From last nights LKL interview:

And I desperately want to know who that person was that he walked down the street with.

I hadn't heard this before. No wonder Moul took extra note of Ricci that day. He informs Moul that he's got a ride home as he waves to his friend across the street and then leaves on foot with this guy. Does Rick's friend live within walking distance or was he afraid of having his car spotted by Moul?

Thanks, Sherlock, but the information on your link simply supports my original contention that the headache wasn't added on until after Ricci's surgery. Every news report that I can find from before the surgery mentions only that Ricci was experiencing breathing difficulties.......no mention of a headache. Once again, I find it odd because breathing difficulties are not commonly associated with brain aneurysms, whereas severe headaches are. It still appears to me that the reported symptoms were amended after the fact to fit the diagnosis.

"whether you clowns like it or not."

LOL! You are one, rude dude, JG.

I certainly didn't keep Elizabeth's thread going so that I would win a popularity contest. Just as you certainly haven't, what with your constant insults.

Many FReepers won't even post anymore, and I don't blame them one bit. If it's your intention (along with others) to stop these threads, it may happen sooner than later, because there won't be anyone left to post.

The only thing I noticed in the interviews is that he never answered an immediate "yes" when asked if he hopes Ricci lives.

From the interview on H & C it is clear that the family has some mixed feelings here but as Cynthia stated "it is in the Lord's hands now". I'll paraphrase what they said. If he lives then perhaps going through this near death experience will soften his heart and he will tell the family what he knows about the abduction, and if he dies then associates of Rick who may know little details about the crime will come forward if they know that he can't be punished for the crime. Either way, there is a chance that the family will find out what happened.

Do you recall the headache being mentioned in the initial reports? This is the first I've heard of it.

Headache is very typical with this type of stroke. It's exactly what my mother suffered. She awoke with a bad headache and soon after, lost consciousness for a time. It initially affected her speech and movement, but she recovered pretty well with therapy. It sounds like Ricci's cerebral hemorrhage was an even more serious one.

Question about the *key.* If Ed Smart knew, or even thought that RR had a key, why wouldn't he have changed the locks? Why did he NOT turn the alarm system on?

The only reason that comes to mind is that Ed Smart considered Ricci a VERY trusted person/friend.

Also, about giving him the vehicle in exchange for "handy-man" work. At minimum wage for such work, it seems like a pretty darn expensive trade-out -- unless Ricci did more for Smart than has been revealed.

Addendum: For those who might not follow my drift, it appears that the symptoms were amended after the fact to fit the reported diagnosis.

I follow your drift. Ricci's prison brain aneurysm = Jim MacDougal's prison heart attack.

Elizabeth will never be found, and the real perp--the one who hired Ricci to take her--will get away with it.

It's hard to believe a "businessman" would be so naieve when it comes to a two-bit punk like Ricci. I'm sure Rick wasn't the first "smooth talker" that sailed through Ed's life. What made him so special that Ed fell for his BS? We STILL don't know who recommended Ricci to Smart.

Right. Which points up the possibility/probability that Ed Smart and Ricci had more going on than just boss/worker -- and I DON'T mean a gay relationship.

"Headache is very typical with this type of stroke."

Yes, from my limited reading on the subject, it appears that severe headache is the most common symptom. That is why I would have expected the initial news reports to have stated that guards were summoned due to symptoms that included severe headache. However, the initial reports (i.e., those prior to surgery) appear to only report "breathing difficulties." Nowhere in my reading was I able to find reference to breathing difficulties as a common symptom associated with brain aneurysm. My point (once again.....sighhhhhh) is that the headache appears to have been ADDED to Ricci's reported symptoms only after surgery confirmed a diagnosis. It's just another one of those little oddities that doesn't seem to quite fit.

Well, I certainly wouldn't be surprised if this was come kind of Utahcide myself. Nothing against the state, just coining the phrase from Arkancide so familiar from the Clinton legacy.

KING: The police are saying that it's very important that Richard live. Do you agree with that?

SMART: You know, I think that it is -- that he is a key factor in this investigation.

This should qualify as a yes even to a Smart hater like you, whatever your nasty name is.
