Yes, however, it appears that leaks are coming from LE. Do you or does anyone know how many authorities are still working on this case? Is it the same amount as when it was started? I'm sitting here thinking about MK's first day back to school today..I'm certain it must have been difficult for her. No matter what precautions have been taken, children will say things without realizing and can be cruel due to what they hear spoken in their homes and out with friends.

Reread post #259 that I found on a mormon board. Those comments were written by people on that board, some of them are apparently from SLC. As you're aware, I'm not from that area.

I think you should start reading what's posted and not reading what you think or would like to believe is being said. This isn't the first time you've misread. And, just because you feel it's a "load of crap", it's what those people know, feel, discuss, and post. Don't forget, those same people from that board might be reading this board and feel what you post is a "load of crap" also.

Nevada Deputies Search for Clues in Smart Case

Sheriff's detectives in Elko County, Nevada, returned to a remote camping area south of Wendover recently in search of clues in the disappearance of Elizabeth Smart.

Elko County sheriff Neil Harris says deputies were acting on a tip from one of Elizabeth's relatives that a vehicle matching the description of a white Jeep Cherokee was spotted in the area about the same time the 14-year-old girl was reported missing.

The search earlier this month yielded no new information. But detectives say they may organize a future search involving authorities form Salt Lake City.

Sheriff Harris says the area is filled with dirt roads, caves and foothills with plenty of places to hide.

The girl has been missing since June fifth when she was taken from her bedroom at gunpoint.

Thank you for the link. For those who have not seen a picture of the Hansen girl there is one at this page also. It truly breaks my heart to think of that monster hurting such a beautiful child. Also on this page is a link to a story dated Aug 23 where the Smart family is asking deer hunters to be on the lookout for places that Elizabeth's body may be. Those of you who still think that Lois believes that Elizabeth has runaway should read this article.

Smarts Appeal to Hunters in Search for Elizabeth Aug 23, 2002 11:56 am US/Mountain

Elizabeth Smart's family members on Friday asked hunters to be on the lookout for the girl or any clue as to where she might be.

Dave Smart, one of the missing girl's uncles, asked that hunters pay attention to anything that looks out of the ordinary as they track game, including suspicious smells.

He also said that Elizabeth probably no longer looks like her pictures, that her hair may have been cut or dyed.

Why would he have reason to believe her hair may have been cut or dyed??!!

The family is asking hunters to check out structures, to post fliers at trailheads and to contact local law enforcement with any tips.

Elizabeth, 14, has been missing since June 5, when a man took her at gunpoint from her bed in the middle of the night. Investigators haven't named a suspect in the case, though they have said a former handyman is a potential suspect.
