Usually when someone PINGs me to a thread that goes back several years it is because some troll has hit upon FR through one of the search engines.
They get outraged at something I said long ago and then are banned (with their comments deleted) before I can even respond. Since deleted comments are not deleted from the "my comments" pages, I can still see the posts.
I'm not quite sure why I was pinged to this thread but I remember it well.
