Besides, somebody abducted their screen names. Great. Now we've got crossed screen names. I am so confused.

What is this all about? You must know, does this have to do with the birds and the bees?

I figured it out. You refresh the "latest messages" page, every time AFTER you read an article, right? And, you think this means the article is being posted over and over again!
If you read really carefully, you will see that the posts each show a number, example 72 of 333. If you click on it, you will be reading the 72nd post. Then, if you go back to the "latest messages" page, and hit refresh again, the number might be 82 of 343. See, you are reading the middle posts on a really long thread.
This doesn't mean that the posts have to reach 343. There is no magic number. Each FR member can respond, writing a unique post.
Oh, and did you also know that you are not required to read each post, let alone respond to them? That might also explain your frustration and fatigue. Things do move really quickly on FR, but you can take a break from time to time, stretch your legs.
In fact no one will notice if you aren't there. They will just assume that you are reading other posts or articles. Depending on how you arrange the topics that you are subscribed to, or whether or not you want to be notified of breaking news or local issues, you may not have the ability to keep up on each and every thread. It is best to use FR as a way see what the latest news is. No one expects you to read all of the material on FR all at once.
Also, you may be unaware that this forum does not require rapid exchanges like a chat room. You might want to try out YAHOO! or AOL if you are interested in more of the stream of consciousness type of material. FR involves a great deal of reading, not just witty banter.
You may have been left on a thread, wondering why no one responded to your comments or freepmail. It could be that they are responding to others on entirely different threads and are unaware that you have addressed them directly.
Hope this helps you some. I know it is really frustrating, getting the knack of things. Know that you are not alone. Thousands and thousands of people read FR on a daily basis. And each of us had to start somewhere.
Best wishes.
