Zeus gives his own daughter over to Hades- god of the underworld to marry. Demeter is supremely outraged that Hades 'abducted' Persephone. He (Hades gives Persephone Pomegranate seeds to eat and she dies) The wise Crone watches all this goings on and does nothing.
