If you haven't learned to let things roll off you like water on a duck, you are (in this world) known as Naive. (BTW,(spelling police alert) Naive, not Niave.)
I don't think you are naive, though. We are all sheeple in one way or another, we just don't always see it.
Sometimes the best way to help someone is to be blunt. Some people reserve their observations out of courtesy or habit. There are all kinds. There will be some that jump ignorant posters (ignorant, for instance is not a negative word. It means you have no knowledge of the subject.) , some that won't.
There was an episode on TWILIGHT ZONE where a guy wished everyone in the world was just like him. He got his wish. Ever see it ?????
Excuse me, Alisasny, I did battle for a year on those Elian threads, and believe me, it was about as bad as it got...These threads are NOTHING compared to the names called on them.
Unfortunately, some former participants carried over their hostility on these threads to certain posters (me) and the grudge carried over.
OTOH, many of us, just buried the hatchet and actually became brothers and sisters for this cause, which we felt was just.
I don't read every thread on FR, but to say this is the worst is not even close to the legendary flame wars that have transpired on FR.
There are no winners and losers in the verdict, except Westerfield and the Van Dams. The rest of us aren't even players.
