My folks used one of those harness things on my brother when he was little so he wouldn't go near the lake while they were working in the yard.

Still remember him running around in that harness tied to a tree....the good ole days.

I always thought that they would have been great for Disneyland. Think about it, I could have had one on each wrist and cleared the pavement in front of me like the Black panthers walking down the sidewalk in Philadelphia in their early days.

When I was a toddler, my parents didn't have one of
those leashes, so they just used a rope and tied me
to a tree. They gave me enough room to move about
to play. Today, it sounds abusive, but there was a
railroad track nearby where we lived. My parents
figured it was safer than having me wander over to
the railroad tracks. Which they were right.
