When the main logic board (controller??) has the chips reseated it will not give an error on the first power-up, but fails after being shut off once.

I was hoping to find a defective chip. Sending the board off is too expensive.

OK, this one is consistent with intermediate EE skills, but inconsistent with thinking his time is worth anything. He is removing and reseating chips....

if he was looking for a bad chip and he was an EE why did he not use a logic probe it check the chips of just swap like chips most EE's and hobist have a few chips laying around or from another board or unit that would make more sence
