I'm far too poor to buy a $150 or more light setup so I plan
on building one. Actually I'm too cheap/inventive to buy one.
Particurally where do I get good batries. Nicads seem like a
bad idea because of the short life. I've got one of those akline
rechargers that I could probably rig to recharge larger battries.
I'd also like a battry(ies) I could put in a bottle/cage.
Also I've got a Preview XE (2W) that runs -forever- on 4AAs.
Can I change the bulb to maybe 5W without melting the unit and
still get 30-45min out of it. If so where do I get a bulb.
(Don't tell me to go spend $8 at my LBS please :-)
I've seen references to locations for info on making your own
light system but I am without external web access (sob, sob).
So would one of you kind people mail me some info?
Any help appreciated.

Judging from the emails including this one, Damon is not a decent EE and very cheap.
