I want to ask all the posters if any of you have ever had a dog who allow a stranger to walk into your home, go up the stairs and take a child from their bed.

I have a dog not a foot tall who would DIE before he let a stranger in. In fact, he has been known to bite friends. LOL. I also have an outside dog who is friendly with everyone who comes along, unless they reach out toward me or touch me. Then he goes ballistic. I love dogs, and I think if everyone had one (and treated it well), we would all be much safer at night. There's no alarm system as good as a dog, of ANY size.

I had a Maine Coon Cat for 13 years & he would "alert" if anything wasn't right around the house. Just by his sudden actions and running about the house & he would whine.

At night, he would wake me by jumping off the bed real hard, enough to make a "thud" sound on the carpet. And then he'd go nuts running around from window to window & door to door.
