Jurors in the David Westerfield trial began deliberating yesterday after hearing a final statement from the lead prosecutor, who beamed a photo of 7-year-old Danielle van Dam onto the wall and urged the jury to focus on the physical evidence.
Finishing closing arguments in the two-month murder trial, prosecutor Jeff Dusek called a blood spot on Westerfield's jacket the "smoking gun." And Dusek imagined what Danielle might tell the jury if someone could bring her back to life "just for a moment" so she could answer the question, "Please tell us who did this to you."
"I've already told you," Dusek said the girl would tell the jury. "I've told you with my hair and where you found it. I've told you with the orange fiber that you found on my choker, and where you found it.

Just spent the past few minutes Googling up some PE associations, and couldn't get any hits. That probably doesn't mean much, since there are more professional engineers' organizations than a stick can be shaken at. Try IEEE. He will almost certainly be a member. You may be able to find his credentials there.

Bob Leuci (wrote "Prince of the City") was interviewed and asked "What's the deal with these guys (cops)?" And he said "Well, about 10% are almost always honest. And about 10% are almost always crooked - they'd be crooks if they weren't cops." And in "Presumed Innocent", one of the lawyers counsels "They're hard, and they're crazy." That said, the best ones are amazingly admirable people - the best.

The press did say "he took his friend to the airport" but they have been wrong before.

Poor spelling is almost proof he IS an EE! BTW DW never graduated, he finished 3 years.

Poor spelling is almost proof he IS an EE! I thought those mechanical eng. folks couldn't spell.
The things you learn on AlGores internet thingy.

So maybe it would be worth his time if he had an ok printer, and maybe most EE's couldn't afford their own logic tester back then. Was he even out of school by then?

I don't know yet, but I hope to find out!

IIRC Damon lived with his parents in Hollywood, Fla. before turning 18 and had been born in Fla.
After he went away to college, his parents divorced and his mother continued living in Ft Lauderdale, but I have not seen what happened to his father.
I have often wondered, even before this case, what ever was known if anything about the white teen much older than Adam Walsh, who was expelled with Adam from the video game arcade after the blacks started trouble. That teen, after all, was probably the last person to have seen Adam alive, besides the perp...unless the teen and the perp are the same...

No luck using the IEEE site search engine. Do you mean you used it and it came back empty, or that it wasn't functionl?

Are you pondering what I'm pondering, Pinky?

Sounds like a Feldman question!
Anybody else going to watch "First Shot" on TBS in a half hour?
To: John Jamieson
Go, Yeti! You've been Feldmanized! Tee hee

Are you suggesting this is one of those so-called "walk-ins" where a soul exits an earlier body, and immediately enters another body born on the same day as the death of the former body?
To: small_l_libertarian
Maybe because he had done so once before, and thus you had something incriminating on him?
