Before Brenda left Danielle alone in the dressing room, she'd left the two boys alone in a toy shop.

By George, I think you got it! Good thinking. I wonder if any of Feldman investigators looked into that angle.

Well, if it can happen to DW, it can happen to anyone.Bingo. I was thinking today that as DW needs to make some money to recup his expenses, and that as the defendant he has access to all the materials in the case, that he should write a book on a Police Department's and County's and media's rush to judgement.
You just gave the book it's title.

Hate to repeat my golden comment when the judge was picked, but here it is:

Well, this sounds like the kind of judge we all want! If he really is a balanced kind of guy.. am glad for it..
Maybe you should read between the lines, DW is toast...

Oh, that's my theory, too - that she actually went missing in the afternoon, not that night. Just nobody noticed, 'cuz Mom was getting ready to go out and bring home some playmates and Dad was getting drunk and playing video games with the boys. I posted my theory either the day Samantha Runnion was killed or the day after. I'm right with ya', girl.

Dehesa Rd. would be the worst place of all the roads he
travelled that weekend, to dump anything. And you have
made good points about Dehesa/mountain biking/DAMON &
friends.

I said Brenda made the comment Danielle would run off and hide and they would have to spend time looking for her.I didn't hear this comment by BVD....but Feldman asked her that question on the stand and he was objected, sidebarred and IIRC, was never heard of again.

Excuse me - why is it you people always have to insult other people's intelligence if they don't agree with you.
I saw the testimony of his girlfriend who said he kept the motorhome locked. What more can I tell ya.
Soooooo, PEOPLE DID TESTIFY the motorhome was locked. Now, maybe it wasn't locked when she wasn't around.

That is an interesting thought.
Where did the paintball rumor come from, do you remember?

I believe a person's character can be ascertained by their comments. For example:

I'll provide the frankfurter...
However, your comments below are interesting. Too bad such consideration is not given to Westerfield.

"Doug Moulder ain't mashed potatoes"
You ever read the book or see the movie "The Thin Blue Line" about Randall Dale Adams who came within a day or 2 of frying for a crime he didn't commit? Doug Mulder who prosecuted Adams comes off as the sleaziest, slimiest scumball prosecutor in Texas history. Maybe Routier thought she needed a guy who would use any tactic under the sun to get her off. But I think she would have been better off with someone else. I don't know how you hire a guy like that knowing his history.

I saw on some show awile back 3 or 4 of the jurors saying if they had been presented all the facts they probably would voted not guilty. 4 did initially right off the bat. Here is one. http://www.reporternews.com/1999/texas/juror0629.html

I've said many times, the judge should NOT have even mentioned the other girls abductions to the jury. There was no need to bring in extraneous information into this trial. My interpretation. The jurors were not sequestered as they should have been and Mudd knows it.
DUSEK and the rest of the country KNEW how similar it was in MO, and VICINITY that it would prejudice the jury. BUT PREDUJICE THEM for the DEFENSE, so DUSEK and MUDD had to INSTRUCT the jury. ANYTHING that the jury sees that PREDUJICES FOR THE PROSECUTION (like watching CTV or LOCAL NEWS about the CASE) is allowed.
THAT IS THE FACT, JACK!

I've known a good many RV owners & none of them lock the door each & every time they go in or out. (It's a nusiance.) Nor do they close the door. Usually just the
screen door.
I've also seen kids much younger than Danielle easily open
the exterior door of RVs. They aren't that difficult to
open. The pull out step, is easy to pull. The manufacturers do this to accommodate older people.
To: Eva
Eva, I think you and I are the only 2 people in the world who think the dad was involved. I have thought so from the beginning. Then, when court first started and the dad was stalking Westerfield, I wondered why the dad was getting so upset.
Also, I agree the letter and the running away is a sign of abuse in the home.
If the dad was high on dope and the mom was out partying, the dad could have ... especially if Westerfield had shown up at the door before Brenda got home - telling the dad that Brenda had invited him. I don't know, this swinging lifestyle has a lot of jealousy to deal with and some people don't handle it well.
I just think there is a ton of information the parents have not told.
To: UCANSEE2
I'd love to see the list Feldman has gathered for a
possible appeals. Now, that must be a "mountain".
To: CyberAnt
Nope. I've believed Damon is the perp & have since
the prelim. You two, are not alone in your beliefs.
To: the Deejay
And you have made good points about Dehesa/mountain biking/DAMON & friends. I wonder if Damon was friends with Karsten Heimburger and his friend Chris, the searchers who found the body.

Like blood on Westerfield's jacket? I'd convict him on that alone. All depends on how the blood got there. Possibilities include:
- Westerfield killed her, and homicide can get messy.
- The real killer put it there to lay a false trail.
- Danielle came in contact with the jacket innocently while having a nose bleed or something.
- The criminalist is lying or incompetent, and therefore, the evidence isn't real.
Admittedly, possibility 1 is intuitively the most likely (although homicidal messiness usually goes beyond one drop, and efforts to clean up leave their own signs). However, if you believe the defense's entymology, possibility 1 is ruled out, because DW could not have beamed the body to where it was found while under 24x7 surveillance.
Also, it is troubling that there is the still no convincing account of how DW got possession of the girl in the first place. There is no evidence for the theory he went into her bedroom and carried her away. No one saw him or heard him or the girl, and he left no physical evidence on the premises. If he did do it, he must have found her sleepwalking and snatched her away with no one seeing or hearing anything.
Now, possibility 2 is the most intriguing. If the real killer were her parents or someone in their circle of wild friends, then we would not need to account for the quietness of the kidnapping ... and the physical evidence against DW would have an alternative explanation. Of course, if possibility 2 is true, there is at this point, alas, about as much likelihood of bringing her killer to justice as there is of catching Jon Benet's murderer.
