I think the coconut is the odd man out because it has a hard shell and no visible seeds.

I thought about the hard shell issue, and I just remembered and old fable about a fox (i think)and a bunch of grapes in a tree (something about sour grapes). However, I think the coconut is the seed itself. What about the banana?

grape was right. i, however, went coconut, since that was the only one of the five where the seed IS the food, not just an innocent bystander.
