What is so "supposedly" about Atta. The valiant act he was going to pull obviated any need to adhere to strict muslim strictures. Read the Alqaeda manual on the state dept's web site.
When in DarelHarb on jihad, a devout muslim is not restricted by the strictures that apply to those not on jihad.
