It's not exactly concern for their kids that would motivate this decision. It's laziness and irresponsibility.
The VD's think about it this way, we've told them they are not supposed to go on/into other peoples property but they did it anyway. What to do so this dosen't happen again? Get rid of MH.
So instaed of watching the child more closely and being consistant with punishment when they break the rules they remove the temptation. Also it's concern for theirselves that motivates the VD's, no MH, no worries, and no extra time kidwatching.

Actually I've never heard the VDs say they told their children anything. They always ask their kids to do or not to do things. I suppose that's the new age parenting though. You treat them like little adults and then wonder why they expect to be able to act like adults. Go figger.
