I don't know if this is accurate but ABC News reported that police found the shirt, the pants, the hat, and the machette all stashed together in the father-in-laws shack. This raised my eyebrows when I read it.
Correct me if I am not remembering right, but didn't the description of the clothing change to fit the description of what they found in the shed?
