All of the studies include variables in a developmental curve of cold-blooded animals, so that as temps increase the development rate increases. It is reasonable that insects will develop faster at higher temperatures.

I'll agree it's cool when I see it has worked. Well, get a chance yet ? Need help with HTML?

I don't have a stake either way really - I will tell you what I think of this witness. He is a lawyer - and you can tell that by his answers - while the words he speaks are well planned out and may seem evasive - I don't think his attitude is evasive - he is very even toned and calm - anything slightly negative about this guys testimony is being outwieghed by Dusek's attitude - his patronizing - it would make me as a juror very uncomfortable. We can all see through to the underlying message that this testimony gives us - and it is another overall plus for the defense and makes dusek seem ugly. For what it's worth - there are rumors that this witness is connecting with the jury - and it's military related members.

You responded to a typo. The original testimony was that there was no difference between mean and median. It is possible that his answer was to the result and not to the concept but that wasn't how I heard it.

THREAD MOVED TO FR CHAT CELLAR????
Surprise, surprise, surprise......
BEST GOMER PYLE VOICE....

Your statements make sense. Westerfield was under constant surveillance by LE and the media. In addition LE placed a gps on his 4-Runner so they knew where he was at all times. They knew he wasn't at Dehesa after 2/4 period.

LOST FEED AGAIN.
The bottom line is that the prosecution believes the dehydrated/mummified skin prevented the bugs from entering the body until the animals produced an unnatural opening. They believe that since the moisture was absent, the bugs did not enter the body through natural openings.. The current defense witness from missouri has never seen a body in the condition danielle's was in...

Egg state, first enstar stage, second enstar stage, third enstar stage--stages vary depending on temperature. All three studies are based on different temperatures.
Dusek: to get accurate estimation, you'd want to use the data from the closest temperature range, wouldn't you?
"Not necessarily." Doesn't matter. One can develop a number of thermal units as degree-hours or degree-days, and that number is remarkably constant, no matter what the ambient temperature is.

It isn't gonna matter in the long run.
Here are the def's again if you missed it:
"median=how I like my steak"
"mean=people on FR that tell me I am wrong"
NOW, can we go on ?
To: FresnoDA
look fres, I'VE NEVER SEEN THAT MESSAGE BEFORE... so the question was legit.
To: FresnoDA
No, really it has been moved by the Mods. I think we're supposed to be in general interest now. 'Cuz there's so many of us I guess.

Discussing alfalfa weevil tests...can use formula to determine when to spray fields regardless of current temperatures.
The fact that the studies were done at different temperatures does not matter.

He also established that animals would eat the larva, the lack of larva in the head isn't typical and most important the calculated time period is the minimum time the body was there.

So many friggen accusations and assumptions...can't even ask a simple question.

I wish Dusek would get in and get out fast, as he's suppose to do. He's gotta be killing that jury! He's been killing me! Plus, he's looking so d u m b!
To: mommya
thanks....and I'll watch more carefully to see if I can get him to "connect" with me.

"The "anus" relaxes at death ..that is one of the reasons people " loose " the bowels content at death (also attracting flies I would think)" Exactly. Therefore, if DW had been driving the body around in the RV (as the prosecution contends), then there would have been a very terrible foul odor (to say nothing of a horrendous messs) discovered without the dog(s). You all need to consult with a coroner before making such statements.

Greenburg's data: Used accumulated degree-hours based on data from Brown Field and Singing Hills. Did calculations under 22C and one under 29C and came up with two numbers.
Dusek asking about using Anderson's data...did he make different calculations using different temps? WIll have to check his notes.
Judge says this is a good time for a break. LUNCH BREAK.
