You may be right about the necklace not having a clasp - my bad. Here's a picture like I had been thinking of - but it's unclear if it has a clasp on the front right near the shirt collar - or maybe it's just twisted or something? Thanks for the info.

The necklace was very popular with young girls a couple of years ago. It is expandable like a chidren's gate and the ends slip together like one of those "hair doogies" that makes a bun or can be worn like a head band.
They are made of plastic. The first ones looked lika a tattoo when worn. They are easily broken. I wonder how her's held up so well. Would be easy to wind thread, hair and not be able to get it out, if it wasn't taken off. Just break it of snip it off would keep from breaking the necklace.
