You are right there, but many times that comes from the fact that we are intimidated. If we state the truth about a racial issue, and it sounds a little harsh, we immediately feel the need to say "some of my best friends are black." This is a cop out.

I just think we need to stop sounding like jerks that would have to make such a qualifying excuse! - Not only do we not win, but we lose ground.
