I have heard a lot about the BBC production! That will have to go on my 'A' list of things to get. I do well just keeping up with all the new stuff coming out.
Pippin is ALWAYS full of questions. How he could have been reduced to a dumb blonde in the movie, I don't know.
So what did you think of my theory about why M & P were brought along...at least as far as Pip was concerned?

So what did you think of my theory about why M & P were brought along...at least as far as Pip was concerned? I'll have to re-read that part of The Fellowship again. All I can remember about Gandalf's supporting the younger hobbits was that it was sudden and unexpected. Did Gandalf act on a whim, inspiration, or had he been sneaking peeks at Galadriel's mirror?

I think you really should get it. My hubby and I had to go on an 8 hour drive for work last fall, and got the BBC version on CD. It helped to pass the time, and I still listen to it from time to time. It was hard the first time I saw FOTR to think of Ian Holms (Frodo voice) as Bilbo. Every time I heard Bilbo's voice in the movie, I thought of Frodo in the radio production. It is a great addition to any fan of LOTR.
