I'm going to weigh in and say I don't think it is fair to tear the parents apart for saying stuff like that. Our family lost a small child (not my own) and when there are other kids involved you do have to think of them, too. After 7 days they were probably realizing she was dead, while hoping she was alive.
Just my 2 cents.

You're so right. I think seven days is plenty for moving on. When life gives me lemons, I make lemonade. I know I can't change the past. Life is for the living!

I agree you do have to consider the other children. But I disagree with thinking of the future in the way they meant. After 7 days you are praying that you can make it through one day at a time. Most people aren't thinking of 15 years from now.
