Man Accused Of Grabbing Girl Near Bus Stop POSTED: 2:31 p.m. PDT July 25, 2002 UPDATED: 6:03 p.m. PDT July 25, 2002 SAN DIEGO -- A man arrested for allegedly trying to kidnap an 8-year-old girl off the street last week is free after posting bail. Police arrested Ruben Fuerte, 50, on Monday in the 2800 block of University Avenue in North Park, said San Diego police Sgt. Bill Nemec. Investigators said he tried to grab the child near a bus stop in the Oak Park neighborhood at about 4 p.m. on July 16. The girl broke free and was able to run to safety, they said. Fuerte was booked into county jail on suspicion of attempted kidnapping of a child under age 14, Nemec said. Fuerte posted $100,000 bail on Wednesday and was released pending an arraignment hearing on July 31.
