What's funny is that one of the most overlooked names scene is Tim Kerr. His early 80s garage band Poison 13 was called by someone at Sub Pop Records one of the early fosterings of "grunge".
Tim Kerr produced (and continues to produces) many of the bands on Estrus label out of Washington. He even produced Mooney Suzuki's first album.
This music will just be another record industry 5 band fad like grunge and swing-bands. It even has it's own fashion sense (mod/retro) regardless of how genuine it is.
At least I still have my rockabilly to retreat to.
