The Blonde is at the hospital with her dad. he's had 2 triple bypasses in the last 15 years and had a stint implanted about 3 years ago. He's been having very irregular heartbeats the last several months so they're doing some tests this morning and will probably implant a pace-maker or some other type of thingy to get the heart rate regular. It's outpatient, so he'll be home by this evening.
Naturally our new house is a wreck, with all the stuff yet to be unpacked, pictures hung, etc. I swear, the stuff was breeding on the delivery truck! I don't remember having all this stuff. Grrrrrrrrr!
But you both seem to be having spiritual nudgings......and my heart hopes you find the answer you are seeking.
....I know you will keep it a focus of prayer, dear ones.
So will I ....for you.
second mistake was Selig's asinine decision to call the game.
How out of touch can they be??LOTS! it appears...
We've had very little rain since Saturday, but there's still alot of mud around.
Believe it or not, we are still stuck here at the timeshare in Bandera, TX. The contractor who's been hired to repair the bridge says the water is still running too fast for him to work. The remaining portion of the concrete culvert is very beat up from all the rushing water and debris so it has to be completely removed.
The sheriff's dept has helped some people evacuate across the water with their luggage, but you still can't get a car out. The people who have left, will have to come back for their cars later. Some left rental cars here and the rental companies will come back for them.
We are lucky that we never lost power or phone (makes Freepin' possible, although very slow on a 26.4 kbps connection) or water. No leaking roofs either.
There is an adjoining property that has a huge muddy field before you can get to another road. That's what the fire department has used to bring in emergency supplies, but the property owner doesn't want a bunch of vacationers getting stuck trying to drive their mini-vans and SUV's across there.
We are having another meeting this afternoon to get updated on things and to compile another grocery list. But right now, I don't see any construction vehicles.
I still have no idea if we'll get out of here by next Thursday when we have to pick up our daughter and her friend in Austin. So, I'm going to contact the other girl's parents tonight and see if we can develop a plan B.
You remember Gracey from the cruise don't you? Well, she lives in Austin and has offered to help me out with dittokid if I need it. But, if the water slows down enough by Friday, then they should be able to get the bridge done in time. The water isn't really that high now. And it is possible to walk across, but you have to be careful and steady.
So that's about it for an update.
Did get to watch the All-Star game last night. Who the heck was that person screeching The National Anthem? She flubbed the lyrics and I didn't like her style at all. Since there were so many Canadian All-Stars, they should have gotten Celine Dion!
And what's this about running out of players and calling a tie?!?!? Dumb...if you ask me, and of course, they didn't...Instead of going on strike, the players should revolt against Bud Selig. As my brother says, GEORGE WILL for BASEBALL COMMISSIONER!
Don't know, but she would have made a better pitcher.
Glad to hear of your new place. It sounds like a dream palace! Last Saturday, Mr HOB stopped a realtor who was putting up a sign at a neighbor's and talked to him for an hour. Guess we're getting serious about moving!
The pond was put in by the last home owner at a cost of $20K and is pretty large. It's sort of kidney shaped, and spring fed so the level stays constant. The island is about 20 feet in diameter with a bridge leading onto it. We put our glider out on the island and really enjoy sitting out there when the sun is going down.
The pool is neither real big or bery deep. It's about 10 feet wide and thirty feet long. It's only 4 feet deep which makes the Blonde happy since she isn't into deep water and has limited swimming skills. It's built in to the deck which is about 35 feet square. We also got a door from the master bedroom leading onto the deck. All-in-all we couldn't be happier if we had built it ourselves.
