Thank *God* the three women I've been engaged to showed their true colors *before* that trip to the alter...
I dropped a date off once and was confronted by the man she was engaged to..
Of course, she didn't mention being engaged. Little things like that obviously don't merit mentioning.
My heart absolutely broke for that guy. He was so crushed.
But, I bet today he is saying to himself "You know.. it's a good thing I found out about her before the wedding"
Two guys in their late 20's (I'm 43) who I work with, used to join me in taking in the occasional concert, have recently met, fell in love, and got engaged. *Bang! just like that. Of course, for a short while they brought their new love out with us... we'd all have the usual fun... dinner, a show, a few drinks, witty banter... and I would quietly watch the dynamics of their relationships... in both cases the women never really made an effort to join and enjoy the group outing, and out of the corner of my eye I'd catch them casting a suspicious eye on me ("He's got to go.")... I've been down the road and around the bend, and they sensed it... I'd quietly smile as I watched my friends acting like little puppy dogs, and the women lapping it all up... well, after just one or two of those group outings my two friends no longer join us on the occasional Friday night outing...
Those two guys are doomed. Five years or less.
