Owners should put the best team on the hardwood, gridiron, ice or between the lines that one canwithout violating the governing rules for that particular sport........if there's no salary cap, then, there's no salary cap.
The franchise still needs to be a money making enterprise, and if one can consistently dominate and win in the process, more power to them.

Yep, and its particularly impressive when a franchise can do so with a modest payroll. Now THAT's talent. I say this as a Dodger fan whose team hasn't been good in the fiscal and talent categories of recent years, either. I'm stating the obvious that a team that needs to win by spending a large amount over any of their nearest competitors, isn't going to get a lot of respect.
