At least it would get some people to shut up about this whole ridiculous issue.

At the least, it would get some of that land out of the hands of the goverment and into useful productive uses.

Of course with the ESA (endangered species act), this might be moot.

I agree, per loin. Sorry, but to cede anything would be a disaster. Then they'd whine about no schools, no medical care, no firehouses, etc. They'd hound us to death and end up costing billions more in infrastructure, and all for a debt that we don't owe to people to whom nothing is owed.

Any slave who has not received their fourty acres and a mule should be entitled to same if they apply in person. Descendents not eligible.

Decendants should receive reparation in Confederate dollars. As to what they do with those, I dunno, but my impression is that so many were printed that there are probably enough of them--even today--to pay out pretty large quantities to Jackson and his minions.
