#155 and #160. "On the other hand, over fifty of Sherman's men were lynched by CSA forces.", and StandWatie's "NO such lynchings occurred! "

Papa, whats the source?

Burke Davis is a great author. 15 or so years ago I'd read several of his books when I discovered he lived in the same town as I do. I found his name in the phone book, called him, and ended up spending an afternoon talking with him. Mr. Davis autographed a couple of books I was giving my father for Chrismas. He is a very dignified and eloquent gentleman, in his upper 80's i believe.

One thing I remember well was him telling me he used to really enjoy writing about the war up until the centennial anniversary years, then, as he said "everyone and their brother started to write about the war and it was'nt as much fun anymore".
