Yeah... sometimes I miss the freewheeling unmoderated days of FR. It was kind of like the Wild West.

I must admit I enjoyed reading FR a few years ago when I was still a lurker, and they had people like Spirit of Truth and A+Burt and such. Sometimes that crazy stuff was fun to read, sort of like a sideshow entertainment. Of course I still enjoy Free Republic very much and yes I do donate and have been since I was a lurker.

The other night there was an interesting thread, and it was pulled. I wrote the moderator to ask why, and Moderator wrote back a rather brusque note saying the material was anti-American. But I do enjoy all the different characters on FR.
