USA-Portugal sets ESPN2 record

The USA win over Portugal, shown at 5 am ET/2 am PT, set a record for the largest audience to watch a soccer game on ESPN2. According to Nielsen Media Research, 998,000 households tuned in. The Associated Press reported that Spanish-language Univision is drawing significantly more viewers for World Cup games than ESPN and ESPN2. Univision averaged of 627,000 households for its first 17 broadcasts, according to the network. ESPN averaged 447,000 households for its first three broadcasts and ESPN2 averaged 496,000 for its first 10.

"1 million" watching in the U.S. could be correct. Of that number, about a few dozen will be actual American citizens. We have what -- 20 million illegal immigrants in the country? Do the math...
