What's up with Rush? He makes fun of GW trying to reach out to the left

IMO, when Rush lost his hearing, his mind went with it. He is being nasty, cynical, egotistical and disrespectful of the most honorable man to be President in my lifetime (in addition to RR, of course).

What has amazed me in the snippets I have been able to stomach, is that he is laughing at all the rational Conservatives who think he is doing a disservice to the President.

I think there is something seriously wrong with him, but my greatest fear is that he will do serious damage to President Bush before he wakes up and realizes how serious his attempts to create controversy and entertain liberals has become.

I'm ashamed I haven't done so before, but I have begun praying for him that he does wake up, and stops his attempts to hurt President Bush. He's not as powerful as he thinks he is, but he is influential, and he has to stop this idiocy.

There's a strong, almost masochistic streak, in many conservatives to play the contrarian and iconoclast, no matter what the situation. It feeds a desire to appear smarter, more independent, more authentic, to go against the grain when even common sense says it isn't required. It also pumps up one's self importance ;-)So, when all the smarties were berating Reagan in the '80's, and needed their doubts assuaged on every small bit of legislation, well, what did that tell you about their judgement or perspective? Ever get the feeling that many a right winger has elevated daily politics to a secular religion, the thing they would abhor in any Lefty they read about?
