Dark Horzizions (Movie news site) is reporting that Natalie Portman will appear on the 'Return of the Jedi-Star Wars Episode VI' Digital Video Disc.
Music Television apparently re-iterated rumours that Natalie Portman (Senator/Queen Padme Amidala) has signed on to be a part of the new scenes being filmed for 'Episode VI-Return of the Jedi'
She will shoot scenes during the production of Episode III ('Rise of the Empire?-ed.) which will then be re-inserted into the Digital Video Disc release of 'Jedi.'

Is that final, that Lucas won't do Ep. 7-9 and make Indiana Jones 4 instead?
To: AppyPappy
Absolutely. Nothing sacrosanct about this. And it's not like they are sneaking in Jar Jar.

Well, Lucas wasn't going to do the prequels either but changed his mind. I suspect that that there will more episodes.

I have heard that Frank Darabont (Shawshank Redemption) and M. Night Shamalyan (Sixth Sense) are alredy writing 'Indy 4' for next year.

Sounds like they needed a woman Jedi to meet some PC quota. Must have to wait til later episodes to get the hispanic and black quotas met.

Perhaps Lucas could edit out the ewoks while he's at it.

Why did Qui-Gon and Anakin, upon death, remain corporeal, while Obi-Wan and Yoda vanished? That question was rumored to be answered in Ep2, and obviously wasn't.
Lots of issues/questions get raised during the early release days of a new Ep, and are just part of the buzz.

When my 7-year-old asks what video I want to watch on Friday nights, he *really* means, which Star Wars episode....

Maybe Obi-Wan and Yoda were just full of hot air. Just kidding. ;-)

If this is true than go back and edit the Indiana Jones movies as well, since we are making it up as we go along...more hype for Episode III -I guess

That was sheer genius on Lucas' part; to cast Helen Thomas as Jabba.

Obligatory Natalie Photo

Actually, Lucas has said that the new re-version of A NEW HOPE (thats Star Wars to the old folk) will feature Jar Jar.

Mace Windu is black, and was introduced in Ep1. And Billy Dee Williams was a black good guy back in eps 5 & 6.

I was also hoping that the disappearing dead Jedi thing would be explained also.
Natalie Portman's shots may be included during the scene on the Endor moon when Luke asks Leia if she has any memories of her mother.
