Actually almost any camera will do for this kind of photography. There has to be a way to keep the shutter open long enough, and it might be well to use a tripod, but this is a great place to get started in star photography. Downtown Paris probably wouldn't have a lot of excellent star viewing nights and being out at night alone might be interesting, but the Eiffel Tower never looked better.
