Yep, this is the first report I've seen with details about these new DVD scenes.
Also, I thought Shore was just going to compose new bits just for the new parts, I never considered that he was virtually going to revamp the whole thing in order to accomadate the new material and record the score all over again in Abbey Road no less.
I like this guy's style!

Much more involved than I had thought about... to add bits in the middle and not upset the flow of the whole score. As for the new scenes, I knew about Lothlorien, but this is definately the first I have seen of new scenes at the beginning... A Bilbo narration, Gandalf singing at the party, more background on Bilbo being changed by the ring. All sounds good to me! Almost as exciting as getting a new movie in August! Shore appears to be redoing the Moria track for the fun of it... The track for that was already very good, and they don't talk about adding anything new there... hehehehe
