One thing though...how does homosexuality contribute to procreation? I've never understood that.
Homosexual activity does not. However, if there are genetic factors which influence a person's level of attraction toward the opposite sex vs the same sex (as seems quite plausible) there may be genes which cause people (of either sex) to be more attracted to men than usual, or which case people (of either sex) to be more attracted to women than usual. Either of these types of genes would increase the reproductive odds for people of one sex while reducing them for the other. If the former effect in some circumstances dominates the latter, then genetic disposition to homosexuality is a possible evolved trait.
Of course, this is not to suggest that men who are attracted to other men should act upon such impulses. But I find nothing implausible about the fact that there is a genetic component which promotes such impulses in the first place.
