I learn many things from my love of baseball. One of them is what I like to call Bill James's Law: The point is not what they could have done or might have done or even should have done but what they did done. The Democrats didn't done keep control of Congress in 1994; the Republicans did done get it. And any speculation as to what might have happened otherwise is, really, immaterial. And, for better or worse, there is a record - a rather sorry record, considering the rhetoric and hype of 1994 - of what they did or didn't done once they got it, as nothing short of their diminishing numbers as the years went on should have made plain enough.

Which would be worse: the wolf who makes no secret of his intention that you will become his meal, or the fox who promises you every whichy way that his menu includes anything but you, until you agree and shake on it, and then discover the hard way that you're the only think to which he aims his fork and knife?

We might still have the el sumpremo dictator, the bent Clintoon still as president in 2002! He and Da$$hole and Gephardle$$ would have taxed and spent our nation into bankruptcy. We would have a military that a good Boy Scout Troops could have beat. Ooops we wouldn't have had any Boy Scout troops if the bent one and his Gay Predators had their way.

It makes me shudder to think about it.!
