Just go to your profile page, click on "Edit profile", and then go to the drop-down box under "location".
Click on that and scroll down to find your hoem state; click on that.
Click once OUTSIDE the list to set that state without the blue highlighting.
Now scroll down to the bottom of the page and press the "okay" button.
You should return to the profile page with flag flying.
