I don't drink coffee either, When I quit smoking about 30 years ago, I unexpectedly found I no longer liked coffee either.
The Antproof Case, by Mark Helprin has a protagonist who is on something of an anti coffee crusade, though Winter's Tale is far and away his best book. You guys should read Winter's Tale, if you didn't already.
My Dad did the same thing... when he tried to quit smoking, he found that the compulsion to have a cigarette with his morning coffee was just too strong. So he quit coffee too. Talk about willpower!
