Now, back to WETA and post production.
How to make a gollum. Serkis, as voice and stand in, evolving to motion capture actor. Gollum became Serkis.
Epic anticipation. 1.7 million downloads of trailer. (Big'ol and I were reminiscing about the first time we saw that trailer.) World premiers, hitting the box office. Going on about the money (as if that makes the movie- ugh, my pet peeve). The salvation of New Line.
Academy awards, nominations etc. Legacy of causing people to read the book, purchases of the book up 1000%. Astin is proud to help make a gateway to the literature. Very nice wrap up- it's all about bringing people to the book. And epic for the ages.

Looking forward to it.... I just so the first of the Riverdance Specials.... so I am just two hours behind! another Riverdance now. Funny, they showed them in reverse order I think... The first hour was the second lead male after Flatley, and this hour is the original with Flately. He is a stand-out dancer.

All in all, a great special with a few new slants on things. This is the first special I have seen that showed video footage of Tolkien - most of them use the same few photos.
My only complaint is that the music mix was too high, making it often difficult to hear what people were saying.
