OK - I watched the Extended Edition last night and it was GREAT! Much more character development which in turn creates a much different feel in the movie when Boromir dies, when Gandalf falls into Shadow, the whole interplay between Gimli and Legolas, etc.
I've brought the DVDs with me today to check out the CD-ROM content. I'll let you know if there is anything on there we haven't seen yet.
