The way I feel about it....if you're not trying to do your best, why bother?

Unfortunately, this may be my best, at least as first drafts go! I think the longest story I've ever written topped out at maybe 7000 words, so I'm pushing myself as it is. I want to do it just to see if I can, but trying to convince my subconscious or whatever it is that's holding me back that it's OK to write a bunch of crap is a bit difficult.
