I'll let Daddy take care of it.

Ugh! I accidently cut my youngest's finger when clipping her nails (she's 3 months old). The blood and her screams had me seeing stars, but I kept it together long enough to get her to the doctor and then to the emergency room. All she needed was a big gauze bandage.

I will never use clippers on her again! All the nurses told me to use a soft nail file. That's what I will use from now on.

I should have known better from the start, but I had clipped them several times already with no incident and felt sure nothing would happen. Until she learned how to yank her arm back, that is.

I did that too!! I nicked my eldest's thumb when clipping his nails when he was a baby and I did it right in front of my MOTHER!! Now she already thinks I'm the most inept person that ever graced the planet and she gave me nine kinds of grief. It's really one of Matthew's favorite stories...he likes to hear how Grandma bawled me out.

You know, I bit them off after that...no kidding, I just nipped them off with my teeth...I could gauge where to nip better and they just thought I was sucking on their fingers or something. Then when they got older, I started clipping them again.
